About Baccalaureate Completion Programs

The baccalaureate completion programs listed on this web site are for students who have completed the general education core or earned an Associate in Arts Degree or an Associate in Science Degree at a North Carolina community college.

Many baccalaureate completion programs offer all courses to complete the degree online. In other cases, only the courses in the major are guaranteed to be online. For non-major courses, such as electives, you may need to go to campus.

All UNC schools hold their online degrees to the same high standards as their on campus degrees.  All sixteen institutions in The University of North Carolina are accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).  SACS is one of six regional accrediting agencies recognized by the National Board of Education.  Earning college credit from an institution accredited by a regional accrediting agency is the surest way to have your college credit recognized and accepted by employers and other universities.

An online baccalaureate completion degree is identical to an on campus degree. Online classes are designed and taught by the same faculty who teach classes in on-campus programs.  When you graduate from a UNC institution, no distinction is made between online or on-campus credits.  Your degree is from UNC.
