Bachelor of Arts in Sociology
Overview
Fayetteville State University's Bachelor of Arts in Sociology will prepare you for a career in which you contribute to the moral, intellectual, social, and material development of the community, the state, and the nation. This major will prepare you for postgraduate and professional studies, to teach in secondary schools, or to pursue an entry-level career in law enforcement, government, or the private sector.
The courses in the online major are the same courses offered in the on-campus program and have been designed by the regular faculty. Course delivery is asynchronous, enhanced by various interactive Internet-based learning applications. Regular FSU faculty teach your online courses, with some adjunct faculty approved by the sociology department.
Requirements
The Bachelor of Arts in Sociology degree requires 75 semester credit hours beyond the 45-credit university core. Only the courses in your major are guaranteed to be offered completely online.

Admission
Before you enroll in the online degree completion program in sociology, you must complete FSU's required 45-credit university college core curriculum, either on campus or through transfer of credit from another accredited institution. Transfer credits will be evaluated officially only after you have been admitted to the university and FSU has received all your official transcripts. Acceptance of transfer credit to fulfill program or elective requirements will be made on the basis of the university policies described in the university catalog.
