Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences: Leadership in the Public Sector

North Carolina State University

Overview

Leadership in the Public Sector (LPS) is a distance education degree completion program designed to focus on leadership in non-market environments (such as local, state, and federal government organizations, and non-profit institutions). Its primary assumption is different from leadership practices in the private sector due to unique features of the public sector.

One of the main challenges of the 21st century is the effectiveness of public and non-profit organizations. To evaluate and to participate effectively in organizations of the future requires a broad-based understanding of the political, philosophical, and practical dimensions of public leadership. The LPS online degree completion program significantly focuses on providing non-traditional students with a liberal arts foundation in the ethical, theoretical, and policy analytical skills necessary to be effective leaders in public sector organizations.

Your courses are provided via online technologies, enhanced by CD, DVD, and various interactive Internet-based learning applications.
