With a student-faculty ratio of 16:1 and an average class size hovering at 30 students, Pembroke occupies the enviable position of being able to treat each student as an individual. Because of the rigors of the curriculum and the personal attention students receive, graduates go on to create vibrant, interesting lives for themselves.
Located in the small community of Pembroke (population: 2,700), in the southeastern region of North Carolina, UNC Pembroke is the safest campus among UNC schools, and, according to U.S. News and World Report, one of the nation's most diverse. Pembroke is 30 minutes south of Fayetteville, a city of approximately 130,000, and is 1 1/2 hours from the Atlantic coast and one hour from the resort city of Pinehurst.
As the fastest growing university—public or private—in the state, UNC Pembroke's campus is undergoing a comprehensive beautification process. A more than $120 million building program is making the campus a better place for students to live and study. The University is always adding more academic programs to meet the needs of students and constituents. Adding new programs also means adding the best and brightest teachers and scholars—faculty members who are committed to helping students develop as citizens and professionals.
