Assistive technology includes a wide range of devices, strategies, services, and practices that are created and applied to improve the functional performance or life satisfaction of any individual with a disability. East Carolina University's Certificate in Assistive Technology will give you a broad-based knowledge of assistive technology, the ability to assess assistive technology needs with clients/students and make an implementation plan, the ability to work with a collaborative team to implement assistive technology, and the knowledge and skills to manage resources to procure appropriate assistive technology for students and clients.

This graduate certificate program is appropriate if you are a teacher, occupational therapist, speech therapist, recreational therapist, rehabilitation counselor, physical therapist, engineer, or any professional who may require knowledge or skills to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities.
