The U.S. Department of Education has released results of a recent study focusing on online learning.

According to results of the study conducted by the Center for Technology in Learning, although "Few rigorous research studies of the effectiveness of online learning have been published . . . [s]tudents who took all or part of their class online performed better, on average, than those taking the same course through traditional face-to-face instruction." View the pdf here.
