Fayetteville State University is a regional public comprehensive university providing quality education to its students through a basic liberal arts foundation, specialized professional training, and specific graduate programs. Instructional programs are organized under the schools of Business and Economics, Education, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the College of Basic and Applied Sciences. Individual university departments, degree programs, and service functions hold memberships and accreditations with appropriate professional organizations.

FSU's location, Fayetteville (city-county population: 308,000), is a trade and business center in North Carolina's sandhills area, near the resorts of Southern Pines and Pinehurst, and designated an "All American City." Fayetteville is home to military installations at Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base. The university provides undergraduate instruction in an education center at the nearby military installations on Fort Bragg and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and at community colleges in its service area.

Online Learning

Fayetteville State University is a regional public comprehensive university offering degrees at the baccalaureate and master's levels and a doctorate in educational leadership. Instructional programs are organized under the schools of Business and Economics, Education, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the College of Basic and Applied Sciences. The university provides undergraduate instruction in the education center at nearby Fort Bragg/Pope Air Force Base and community colleges.

FSU Online opens the door to this new technology by offering its students Distance Learning e-opportunities sure to enhance the personal quest for high-quality education. Our commitment to reach every student with appropriate programmatic offerings is further underwritten by FSU Online as one of Fayetteville State University's quickest evolving high-tech strategies. Living and Learning in the 21st century is a mandate for change and growth. FSU Online can be the tool to assist you in both.

Beginning in fall 2004, Fayetteville State University began offering several programs in an online format in conjunction with the North Carolina Community College System. The program includes criminal justice, sociology, and psychology. The initial two years of study will be completed through the local community college, either online or on campus. Upper-division courses will then be completed through FSU Online. Counselors will evaluate all transfer credits form the community college, and all transfer requirements on campus must be met in online programs. A minimum of a "C" is required to receive credit. Even though the programs are offered online, the same rigorous academic standards are maintained, and students complete exactly the same course requirements. As a student in FSU Online, you will have an advisor to guide you on your academic journey.
