Some Of Our Students Say....
I am a first-year lateral-entry teacher and the opportunity to take all my licensure courses online was too good to pass up. The online courses were very convenient for me and I like being able to work ahead in my classes. The coursework is appropriate and useful and pertains to what I am doing in the classroom. This is a great program and I appreciate all of the support I've been given.

I’m an independent student working and attending school on a full-time basis. Online classes allow me to continue to work while simultaneously completing my degree. I love being able to do course work when it fits my schedule. The online program is the only way I can finish the degree that I’ve been working to obtain for the last five years. I’ve attended evening degree programs, day programs, public and private schools, and nothing has been better than online classes. Communicating with others is also easy online. I feel that I am learning even more on my own than in face-to-face class settings because I need to read, write, and study in order to succeed.

Online courses are convenient for my hectic life. When I do not have to go to classes at a specific time, it gives me more time to do better work without rushing. Online classes give the student practice on being an independent worker. In the workforce, it is necessary to know how to manage several tasks and work with very little coaching.

ECU's TPC online program has been a wonderful professional growth experience! As an English educator, TPC courses have provided me with beneficial tools and activities to use in the classroom. With an ever changing student population, TPC has helped me and other educators address diverse issues that develop and improve our students' communication skills. Thank you!
High School National Board Certified Teacher obtaining her masters degree in Technical & Professional Communication at East Carolina University
I had never taken an online course until this year, and I wasn't sure how effective it would be. Class discussions in a chatroom? A professor hundreds of miles from many of his students? How would we all communicate? But so far, I've been pleased with the quality of instruction and online interaction between the students. We challenge and are challenged every day. Moreover, the program brings in a diversity of mature students whose work and family commitments keep them off campus.

Just wanted to send you a note letting you know how much I enjoyed the Educational Psychology online class. What's more, taking an online course is very convenient for mothers with small children such as myself. I enjoyed the faculty member's outlook on things as well as teaching.
Teacher taking UNC-Pembroke online education courses to complete her certification
I am a full time teacher in my first year. I not only had to adjust to working full time, I had to adjust to learning the curriculum and the everyday schedule of teaching. I have two children and I am the basketball/dance/ gymnastics/guitar lessons/tae kwon do 'give somebody a ride' mom. That keeps me pretty busy when I am not at work. The Distance Learning class has been a blessing. I can do my work at home, at my convenience. The instructor and the technical guru have been able to answer all my questions on-line…. The weekly discussion with the classmates is quite interesting as you get everyone's viewpoints. If you were sitting in a classroom you may only hear one or two responses. I feel that I actually get more insight about the topics as everyone has to respond to the questions.
North Carolina State University teaching licensure student.
Since the beginning of my academic career at North Carolina A&T State University, there has been an increase in the amount of online courses that are offered. These courses have really made things a lot easier for the student body. Time conflicts with other courses are no longer a major issue during registration. Online courses are also more convenient for non-traditional students who may have young children for whom they are caregivers. Pacing is better because students are not pressured to log on at the same time and because everyone is given a full week to complete most assignments. There are also fewer parking issues because students are not forced to commute to campus for classes. Students can work from home, libraries, or their workplaces to complete their assignments as long as there is internet access. Overall, my experiences with online courses have been great and convenient.

I have enjoyed taking online classes because of the flexibility that it allows in my schedule. Instead of being in a classroom at a designated time, I can work in the comfort of my room. Online classes show academic progress and grades assignments in a timely fashion.
