Some Of Our Students Say....
I have enjoyed taking online classes because of the flexibility that it allows in my schedule. Instead of being in a classroom at a designated time, I can work in the comfort of my room. Online classes show academic progress and grades assignments in a timely fashion.

I am a firefighter by trade and nature. I finished my associate degree in traditional classrooms, having to drive more than 100 miles for each day of class. There were no B.S. programs anywhere around, especially in fire. The online program made it possible for me to take classes without all of the driving, and the wasted time and money associated with the driving. It would have been very difficult to complete a degree without this program, and the degree would not have been in the fire field. The program has helped me come to terms with new teaching methods, and in fact I am starting my first class online as an instructor tonight.

The online pursuit of my education has been interesting, intriguing, and challenging. It has allowed me the flexibility of scheduling my time and daily routines to meet all requirements. This process has required discipline to handle my 8-hour work schedule, family commitments, and excel in the online program. [The program] has proven to be multifaceted with chats, reference sources, projects, and tests. I have now come to the completion of my undergraduate studies. I am experiencing emotions of great accomplishment and satisfaction having reached this goal. I can also say confidently with Aggie Pride, “you're never too old.”

The on-line program has given me an opportunity to seek a quality education. Without this program, I would have been unable to obtain my BSN from Carolina. Due to the distance that I live from the campus, my family, and my current position as a registered nurse at a local hospital, my goal of obtaining my BSN from a highly acclaimed nursing program would have been impossible. The on-line program has certainly challenged me academically and exposed me to many experts in the field of nursing. The staff has been outstanding to work with. They are always accessible to the students. I feel that I have been very fortunate to have participated in this quality program.

The on-line RN/BSN Completion Program through The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has all the successful components busy RN's need to advance their nursing degree. I have been able to work full time, take care of a busy family and take classes at my convenience with a renowned faculty and staff guiding me every step of the way. I am able to attain my BSN from one of the nation's prestigious schools of nursing in the comfort of my own home with personalized attention day, night or even on weekends. The program's unique approach of using diverse methods of educational tools such as group on-line discussions, faculty audio presentations and Internet links to the campus Medical Sciences Library, kept it fresh and interesting while the tools helped my success. The program has used the best professionals on campus to meet the needs of their cyber students making them become a part of college life through Internet information on campus activities, research studies, and seminars. I would recommend this program to any RN who dreads driving to school at night or giving up their weekend trying to advance their degree. This program provides the busy RN the ease and flexibility they are looking for.
Nurse in UNC Chapel Hill's RN to BSN online program
I was just saying the other day to someone that I have really enjoyed the online courses. I have had no problems getting in touch with any of my professors when I need them. Emailing and BlackBoard have been great assets. I actually feel as though I am asking more questions and being more "vocal" than I would be in an actual classroom setting. For me the online classes have been essential. If I had to go to a classroom and sit for long periods of time and couldn't work full-time I would not be in the program. I have been telling people ever since I started that if they want to go back to school this is the way to do it. I am so glad I am getting my RN-BSN this way! It is so convenient!

I could not have been more pleased with this program. Everyone was helpful and professional. The content was pertinent and challenging. I found the discussion groups quite wonderful. The online discussions actually offered me more contact with fellow students than a classroom situation has in the past. I highly recommend the program to other registered nurses working towards their BSN.

Since the beginning of my academic career at North Carolina A&T State University, there has been an increase in the amount of online courses that are offered. These courses have really made things a lot easier for the student body. Time conflicts with other courses are no longer a major issue during registration. Online courses are also more convenient for non-traditional students who may have young children for whom they are caregivers. Pacing is better because students are not pressured to log on at the same time and because everyone is given a full week to complete most assignments. There are also fewer parking issues because students are not forced to commute to campus for classes. Students can work from home, libraries, or their workplaces to complete their assignments as long as there is internet access. Overall, my experiences with online courses have been great and convenient.

The North Carolina Executive Master's Program provided a good overview of issues in medical leadership and management. A valuable aspect of the program was the use of case studies. These case studies of medical organizations improved our understanding and retention of conceptual material by allowing us to apply the concepts we learned to real organizations. In addition, the interaction with students from other medical fields and from civilian organizations was interesting and beneficial. The skills learned in the program were helpful while I served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army and will be especially beneficial in positions outside the military.

Whether or not my words show it, this program truly is a blessing. So here goes....The East Carolina Technical and Professional Communication On-line Master's Degree Program has afforded me a unique opportunity to achieve my academic goals while still being able to maintain my full-time job and continue to be home for my two small children. Prior to participating in this program, I struggled to find a way to juggle all of my responsibilities and also further my education. Although I only live an hour away from the campus, I was limited to taking night classes. With the TPC On-line Program, I have the luxury of doing my course work when it fits in with my hectic schedule, and I also have a wider variety of courses from which to choose. The East Carolina Technical and Professional Communication program has opened up a pathway to a master's degree that I might otherwise have struggled to achieve in a traditional setting.

With a full-time job, a part-time job, a commitment to volunteerism, a wife and two year old son, my time is precious. The online environment allows me the freedom to study when I want and where I want. Without that freedom, my dream of earning a master's degree would be virtually unattainable.
