Some Of Our Students Say....
ECU's TPC online program has been a wonderful professional growth experience! As an English educator, TPC courses have provided me with beneficial tools and activities to use in the classroom. With an ever changing student population, TPC has helped me and other educators address diverse issues that develop and improve our students' communication skills. Thank you!

I had never taken an online course until this year, and I wasn't sure how effective it would be. Class discussions in a chatroom? A professor hundreds of miles from many of his students? How would we all communicate? But so far, I've been pleased with the quality of instruction and online interaction between the students. We challenge and are challenged every day. Moreover, the program brings in a diversity of mature students whose work and family commitments keep them off campus.

The distance education program at ECU has been a wonderful experience for me. Being from a rural area in addition to being required to work outside the state from time to time during the year, graduate school would have been impossibility. After being laid off at one point during the year, I recognized a greater need for more career options. I am thankful for the distance education program, and I'm looking forward to graduating in the fall. The program gives hope and opportunity to working adults who find it difficult to travel a long distance for school.

ECU's distance education program has allowed me to add a new dimension to my career that would have been completely impossible with traditional higher education. This specific type of training is not available to me where I live. But because geography is no longer an obstacle, I can "attend" my classes while tending to my very busy personal life some 200 miles away.

I am a first-year lateral-entry teacher and the opportunity to take all my licensure courses online was too good to pass up. The online courses were very convenient for me and I like being able to work ahead in my classes. The coursework is appropriate and useful and pertains to what I am doing in the classroom. This is a great program and I appreciate all of the support I've been given.

Since the beginning of my academic career at North Carolina A&T State University, there has been an increase in the amount of online courses that are offered. These courses have really made things a lot easier for the student body. Time conflicts with other courses are no longer a major issue during registration. Online courses are also more convenient for non-traditional students who may have young children for whom they are caregivers. Pacing is better because students are not pressured to log on at the same time and because everyone is given a full week to complete most assignments. There are also fewer parking issues because students are not forced to commute to campus for classes. Students can work from home, libraries, or their workplaces to complete their assignments as long as there is internet access. Overall, my experiences with online courses have been great and convenient.

I considered finishing my degree at another university, but my work schedule made it impossible to attend a traditional class. Now finally ten years later, distance education is giving me the opportunity. Since distance education courses require more initiative and participation on my part, I have found that I am learning more than I did sitting in a classroom. Distance education also provides the hands-on learning that is required to excel in today's high-tech world. When I complete my degree this spring, I will be better prepared to advance my career.

I chose the BSET Electrical Distance Education program instead of a campus-based program because of the convenience it provides. I would not have been able to attend on-campus classes because of my work schedule and distance from the university. I am a senior citizen who re-entered the workforce after retirement from the postal service. While with the postal service, I worked with mail processing equipment and have always wanted to delve deeper into electronics. The DE program has provided me with the opportunity to do so. I am now employed with Underwriters Laboratories and I test new products for electrical and fire safety. My employer has been very supportive of my school work and frequently inquires about my progress.

I am very grateful for the CLS [Clinical Laboratory Sciences] online program. I am a wife, mother of two, and I work part-time. Because of my busy schedule, it seemed almost impossible to obtain a BS degree. However, thanks to the CLS online program, I am only one semester away from obtaining my goal. I am very appreciative to all the WSSU staff who have made my goal reachable. I try to encourage other medical laboratory technicians to utilize this program, because it has truly changed my life.

Admittedly, when I learned that the curriculum was offered entirely online, I was somewhat skeptical. But my doubts faded quickly, I couldn't believe the depth of course information or the accessibility of the faculty. The flexibility of the program not only allowed me to learn at my own pace and in my own way, but also worked around my schedule, giving me the time to also pursue an internship, gaining very useful hands-on experience. I came to the program a skeptic but will leave a believer.

I could not have been more pleased with this program. Everyone was helpful and professional. The content was pertinent and challenging. I found the discussion groups quite wonderful. The online discussions actually offered me more contact with fellow students than a classroom situation has in the past. I highly recommend the program to other registered nurses working towards their BSN.
