Program Information

Diana Freeman Luckett says, "I am currently an ASU online student in the 2009 BS/Health Promotion cohort. I have been very impressed with the program delivery. The extension staff take care of your issues as if you were an on-campus student. I would highly recommend distance education at ASU."

Appalachian State University's 100% online Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion degree- completion (2+2) program offers courses designed to help students learn how to improve the health of individuals and communities through appropriate planning, implementation, and evaluation of health promotion and disease-prevention programs. Coursework prepares students to (1) positively impact the health and well-being of entire populations and (2) design intervention programs using a combination of health promotion and related organizational, economic, legislative, and environmental support mechanisms. Graduates typically find employment in public health agencies, clinical facilities such as hospitals and medical clinics, colleges and university student wellness departments, voluntary agencies, and work site health promotion departments.
